Taken from an introduction to a free hand, on-line, drawing course,

called Learning to Draw in 24 Hours.


This 2.5 minute video shows some of the “calculation” that can be done with form.  It demonstrates the use of a simple language that can be applied to any 3-dimensional situation, problem, or project.

The drawings below show “speculation” (brainstorming with drawing), developing new product uses for a jell material that gives off or absorbs heat when manipulated.

The company was Kwik Kold (* see information below), and their proprietary rights were about to run out on their material.  I generated 100 new products within a week, and subsequently created a closer, marketing analysis of immediately implementable, consumer, and industrial applications...

Redesigned counselling offices, space planning, selection of colors, created cathartic counselling experience.


Industrial & interior DESIGN,  Haines, lunberg, Waehler,  New York City, 1980

Head of Industrial Design for Interiors and Architecture 300 person office.  Oldest continuous running, architectural firm in the US.   Worked on corporate facilities for Fortune 500 companies.


Industrial design, Milton Glaser inc.,  New York City, 1979

Detailed Children’s Display Case, Sesame Street Playground.  Drafted massive, 1/2” thick glass showcase for Children’s Store.

Created mock-ups of Wine Display for Grand Union grocery stores.  Recommended epoxy powder coating for wire shopping carts. Now standard.

Redesigned hand held, battery operated, bio-feedback device, GSR-Galvanic Skin Response monitor.  Human factor studies generated along with working models.


Industrial design,  Kwik Kold,  missouri, 1975

Generated new product concept applications for hot and cold generative material.  100 new concepts were created within a week’s time.  Created marketing study that examined immediately implementable, consumer, and industrial applications.

Generated 50 product applications for a heat retentive gel used in existing product, Ice Pac.  One concept, later patented, in 1974 by Kwik Kold, was an Incubator for Infants.


Industrial design, Seymour Evans lighting designs,  new york, 1969

Designed 3 different lighting systems for Louisiana State Stadium:  Convention, Sports, & Concert.


Industrial design, skidmore owings & merrill,  washington, d.c., 1968

Designed prototypical Highway I-95 interchange while on Criteria & Details team.  Detailed GM Barrier.  Created concepts for Signage & Lighting.  All since implemented.
